LAST night we paid tribute to the dedication and drive of another group of people who help make Glasgow the city it is.
The north west heat of the Community Champion awards produced another group of public-spirited people working hard to help others.
Our search for nominations did not disappoint, and we were able to choose from a rich vein of generous and hardworking people of all ages.
From the young award winner, Erin Ryan, to the senior champion, Alex Watt, age is no barrier to good work.
And whether it is paid employees such as nurse Elaine Hamilton in the uniform service awards or a team effort such as the Walk a Mile In My Shoes group, they all have the same motivation to create a better community.
With our award partners Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Community Planning Partnership, Glasgow Housing Association, Scottish Fire and Rescue and Police Scotland we are honoured to be able to recognise the efforts of all our winners.
Each of the finalists were all worthy of the nomination and are doing great work.
We wish the winners well as they are entered into the city wide final later this year, were once again the standard will be incredibly high.
But for now to the 2015 Community Champion winners of the north west we say a heartfelt congratulations and a very big thank you.
It is fully deserved.
