FALKIRK rekindled their SPFL Championship title hopes after beating 10-man Dumbarton 2-0.
Goals from David McCracken and Rory Loy were enough to end a run of three games without a win while the Sons' misery was compounded by Hugh Murray's late red card.
Ian Murray, the Dumbarton manager, missed the match after his wife gave birth to a baby boy.
Meanwhile, Morton's relegation fate was surely sealed by a 3-0 defeat at Cowdenbeath. The Ton were reduced to 10 men by Rowan Vine's red card, and now trail the Blue Brazil by 16 points with just seven games remaining.
Annan Athletic kept their League Two title dreams alive with a 2-0 win over Albion Rovers.
