HARRY WILSON is confident he has made the right move for his career after clinching a loan switch to Derby.
The Liverpool winger was strongly linked with a move to Rangers as former Reds Under-18 boss Steven Gerrard looked to bolster his attack this summer.
Celtic were also interested in Wilson after an impressive stint in the Championship with Hull City last season.
Kop boss Jurgen Klopp was keen for the 21-year-old to remain in England after he agreed a new long-term deal.
And he has now joined Frank Lampard’s side for the new campaign.
Wilson said: “In the summer my agent had a lot of interest and I had to sit down with him and Liverpool to go through the teams carefully and try to choose the best option for me.
“We narrowed it down to a few teams, by the end of it we decided this would definitely be the right place for me to come. Knowing what a big club it is and such a big fan base, then coming here this morning and seeing the facilities and what the club is about, I feel that I made the right decision.
“He (Lampard) is a big attraction. Seeing the career he had as a player and the things he has done in the game is brilliant and I am looking forward to getting into training.
“To be learning from him on a daily basis and the coaching staff and players here, I think it will do me a world of good.
“He has told me the way he wants his team to play and I feel I can be a great addition to that.
“When I get on the pitch it is up to me to listen to what he wants and try to perfect that on the pitch.”
