Brendan Rodgers has maintained that he has not been surprised by the form of Odsonne Edouard this season.
The Frenchman has made an impressive start to the campaign but Rodgers believes that the striker’s pricetag has made observers view him through a different prism.
“I’ve always thought he’s been at a good level,” said Rodgers. “There were different eyes looking at him in different ways.

“He’s at the level he was at last year but sometimes when you come in as a £9m or £10m player, all of a sudden people think you’re something different.
“He isn’t. He’s the same boy people were asking me last year why he was playing. Exact same. Great mover, finding space, running in behind, scoring and creating goals. Exact same.
“What he has now is a confidence. He is here as a permanent player and he is a young player who has a lot of development and a lot of talent.”
Meanwhile, Australian internationalist Tom Rogic will be in Celtic’s squad for tonight’s UEFA Champions League meeting against Rosenborg.
The Parkhead side host the first leg in Glasgow this evening and Rogic is expected to play some part in proceedings.
The game, however, will come too soon for Mikael Lustig who has just returned to training this week after his exploits at the World Cup in Russia with Sweden, who made it to the quarter-finals.
“No, we’re not playing computer games,” said Rodgers. “He was only back on Monday so you cannot ask someone to come back Monday and play Wednesday.
“He’ll get back up to speed over the next couple of weeks, then we’ll see where he’s at.”
With Australia exiting the competition at the group stages, Rogic has had an addition few weeks to train.
“Tom is back in the squad for the game. He looks really good,” said the Celtic manager.
Striker Leigh Griffiths is still sidelined but is expected to start full training on Thursday along with Jonny Hayes. The Republic of Ireland winger has been out since breaking his leg at Dens Park in December last year.
“They will join the training group on Thursday so that’s good news,” said Rodgers.
