GORDON: Left exposed for the opening goal and had little chance of denying Meling from close range. Looked uneasy in the immediate aftermath of that but spent most of the second period watching the game as Celtic camped in Rosenborg’s half. (6)
GAMBOA: In from the cold to help shore up a defence that was ravaged by injury and suspension. Looked off it when Meling nicked past him to net the first goal of the night but found his feet as the game progressed. (5)
HENDRY: Conceded possession in the move from which Rosenborg opened the scoring after just 15 minutes. Nicklas Bendtner used all his experience and intelligence to ensure a difficult night for the defender who looked out of his depth at times. Had a header come off the crossbar late in the game. (5)

AJER: Came close to finding the net with a header shortly after Celtic had conceded. Always looking to burst forward and bring the ball out from the back. Will feel that he put in a decent shift against his countrymen. (7)
TIERNEY: Looked more himself after the break when he spent as much time pushing forward. Seemed to be caught out by Pal Andre Helland in the build-up to the opening goal. Like Celtic, found his composure as the game went on. (7)
MCGREGOR: Worked his socks off. Clipped the post in the second period with an effort and was
BROWN: Booked for a foul on Jonathan Levi after going straight through the midfielder. Had lost possession and took both ball and man as he tried to retrieve it. Took a sore one after substitute Alexander Soderland went through him. (7)
NTCHAM: Hauled back on the turn inside the penalty box for what looked like a penalty. Got his moment immediately after the restart when he curled in an effort to give Celtic the lead for the first time in the tie. Was denied a similar second by the woodwork. (8)
FORREST: Another industrious shift. Worked the flank and gave it his all. A veteran now at this level – this was Forrest’s 71st European appearance for Celtic. Set up Edouard for the Parkhead side’s third goal of the night. (7)
SINCLAIR: Back into the starting team and was the architect of Celtic’s all-important leveller just before the interval after sliding the ball into the feet of Edouard. One effort in the second-period which was saved by Andre Hansen. (7)
EDOUARD: A performance that reflected his confidence at the minute. Did well to find the net just before the interval but showed his class with his second and Celtic’s third. Darted forward to beat the offside trap and as keeper Andre Hansen came off his line, Edouard netted with an impudent chip. (8)
ROGIC: On to a rousing reception just after Celtic had netted their third for his first appearance of the season. (4)
