I was delighted to see Alfredo Morelos get the goal against Osijek and I thought he had his best game for Rangers for quite a while. He actually looked like he was enjoying it.
He was up there on his own but he put a shift in, he won fouls, he brought others into play and his header was a really lovely finish. He even smiled!
There has been a lot of talk about Alfredo and his future and his place in the team recently and people will think that he has proven a point on Thursday night. It is one goal, though.
The fans were entitled to expect more goals from him at times but he could maybe point to the chances that have actually been created for him.
He got one on Thursday and he put it away really well and that will hopefully do him the world of good.
I am not saying he will be a changed player but if he can score in the next three, four, five games, then you can say we are seeing the real Morelos.
People forget that he is only 22-years-old. He is not an experienced striker at 25, 26, so he will have good spells and bad spells.
He is a confidence player and you could see against Osijek that he was in the mood because he did a really important job for the team as well as getting his goal.
It was a terrific ball in, he got in front of his man and finished it well. And you saw what it meant to him with his celebration as he ran right to the camera.
Good on him and hopefully there is plenty more to come. But nobody has turned a corner yet and there is a while to go before we can say that about Alfredo Morelos.
