If Celtic are successful in negotiating a way past AEK Athens in the UEFA Champions League third round qualifier they will play either Malmo or Hungarian side MOL Vidi in the play-off round of the competition.
The immediate test for the Parkhead side is finding a way past Greek side AEK, whom they host in the first leg in Glasgow on Wednesday night.
Swedish side Malmo put Ronny Deila's Celtic side out of the tournament in 2015 with an aggregate 4-3 win. Celtic had won the opening leg 3-2 in Glasgow but then lost 2-0 to Malmo in the return tie.
Should they prevail against AEK, they will be in the position of playing the opening tie away from home and hosting the second leg in Glasgow.
The first leg will take place on either August 21 or 22, with the return leg taking place on either August 28 or 29.
Celtic will have made it through four qualifying rounds if they make it to the group stage of the competition again this season.
