Craig Gordon
Got two hands to the ball which kept out a Lopes shot early on but was slightly hesitant all night as if he seemed unsure about the players in front of him. Had no chance with the goal in fairness. 6
Mikael Lustig
Should have cut out the cross which led to AEK’s goal and was later subbed after what for him was a poor performance. Is this the beginning of the end for the Swede? He did not look great. 5
Jack Hendry
Okay, he was hardly inspiring but actually did fine for the most part. Too much was asked of him in such a big night in partnership with an even younger centre-half. It’s just too a big a step-up for him at this stage. 6
Kristoffer Ajer
Was caught out of position at the goal and at times looked a bag of nerves. AEK’s Marko Livaja bullied him – there is no other word for it – and like Hendry was exposed when he should not have been. 5
Kieran Tierney
Celtic’s best player by a country mile. He was brilliant in the first-half when his crossing deserved better and he did not stop, not once, in the second-half. If only Rodgers had a few more like him. 8
A strangely subdued night for the captain on his 100th European appearance. So many times he was in position to shoot and did not. The captain didn’t play badly but this wasn’t a vintage Broony display. 6
Olivier Ntcham
Great on the ball, his passing is great, but shooting let him down as did the final pass at times when, in his defence, AEK packed their own box. Didn't shoot enough but still a plus point on the night. 7
James Forrest
Gave everything for his team in defence and attack. The winger did all he could to get something, and was a creative positive, but had two players to beat almost every time. 7
Tom Rogic
His great pass helped set-up Celtic’s goal but the Australian was out on his feet after about half an hour and did well to stay on the pitch for as long as he did. 5
Callum McGregor
Another brilliant European goal for the academy product and another fine performance from one of the best players at the club. If anyone was going to score a second it was McGregor. 7
Odsonne Edouard
He’s a talent but could do with watching footage of Henrik Larsson who knew a thing or 200 about gambling and getting on the end of crosses. 5
Substitutes
Leigh Griffiths
Had a couple of okay efforts and some nice touches. At least he’s fit again and is happy to take on a shot. 6
Scott Sinclair
A couple of runs came to nothing. He added a bit of spark but needs to find the players from 18 months ago. 5
Substitutes not used: Bain, Simunovic, Hayes, Johnston, Kouassi
