DECLAN JOHN hopes a return to Wales can bring out the best in him after he clinched a move to Swansea on deadline day.
The left-back has fallen down the Ibrox pecking order this summer and quit Rangers to pen a three-year deal with Graham Potter’s side.
Now he is determined to make the most of his chance to shine in the Championship this term.
John said: “It has been a busy two or three days, but I am really happy to be here. I am really looking forward to playing in a Swansea shirt.
“It is nice to come home to Wales and be back close to the family. I am a Merthyr boy born and bred.
“I started off at Cardiff as a kid but first and foremost I need to focus on my career and put myself first in this situation.
“I am excited and really happy to play under Graham Potter. I will look to try to get into the starting XI and try and get some minutes in.”
