STEVEN GERRARD is pleased Alfredo Morelos made the trip to Spain to support Rangers in Villarreal.
The striker and defender Jon Flanagan are both suspended for the Group G opener against the Yellow Submarines this evening.
But Morelos was part of the travelling party that flew into Castellon on Wednesday ahead of a huge night for the Light Blues.
Gerrard said: “Brilliant. It was his decision. It was optional for a couple of players, one decided to stay, one decided to come.
“I’m absolutely delighted he’s come it shows me he wants to be part of it, he wants to come and cheer his team-mates on.
“He can train here. The option was to train one v one with a physio or a sports guy or come and support your team-mates and join in with the squad and help in a different way and I’m absolutely delighted he’s come.”
