STEVEN FERGUSON is ready to thrust Ross Stewart back into the full spotlight as Ross County try to glean vital survival points from Rangers.
Sidelined by a serious hamstring problem just before New Year, the striker managed to come through 30 minutes against Motherwell in midweek.
Stewart’s cameo role after more than two months out was enough to persuade County’s co-management team he should be in contention to face Seven Gerrard’s side.
Ferguson said: “Ross is in contention, given the type of boy he is and how naturally fit he is.
“He has missed a lot of football, but has been training really hard.
“We’re sure he’s 100 per cent ready after the injury and there’s been no repeat relapse since Fir Park. Ross brings us a different dimension to how we play. It was a poor day for us on Wednesday, but the fact we got him through 30 minutes was big for us.”
