Ambitious Bristol City remain confident of being able to tempt Rangers boss Steven Gerrard down south to become their new manager, according to local reports.
Gerrard was The Robins' top priority as they aim to appoint a new manager before the new season begins but it is understood the Gers leader rebuffed any link with the post. Bristol Live now report that the Liverpool legend has NOT categorically ruled himself out and that City hope to lure him to Ashton Gate.
The same publication claim 'multiple sources' have indicated that Gerrard remains the Championship club's main target, however north of the border they believe Gerrard is considered nailed on to stay at Ibrox.
The Express also claim Gerrard was officially approached about the role recently however he turned it down. His former England teammate John Terry has now emerged as a leading candidate for the job.
