CELTIC have launched an improved offer for AEK Athens goalkeeper Vasilios Barkas, according to reports.
The in-demand keeper is believed to be the Hoops' number one target after plans to bring Fraser Forster back on a permanent deal stalled.
Sportime say Neil Lennon's team are close to agreeing a deal for the 26-year-old after putting forward second bid of around £5million.
The Greek report also states that personal terms have been agreed between the club and the player.
Meanwhile, we told earlier this morning how a deal for Fraser Forster could well be back on the table.
Forster has been linked with a return to Glasgow but the deal looked unlikely due to Saints’ willingness to give the goalkeeper playing time this season.
However the Express are now reporting that Forster is on a list of players set for the axe at St Mary’s.
