RANGERS legend Ally McCoist has paid a touching tribute to David Hagen after his sad passing yesterday.
The former Light Blues and Hearts player lost his brave battle to motor neurone disease at the age of 47 after being diagnosed in 2018.
Midfielder Hagen famously came within one game of the Champions League final with the Glasgow club after bursting onto the scene as a youngster.
His former teammate McCoist took to Instagram to remember a friend he admired so fondly during their time together at Ibrox.
He wrote: "Devastated to learn of the passing of David Hagen, as such a young age, so cruel.
"I can still picture him walking into that dressing room as a fresh-faced kid.
"A talented young player and he had to be to break into that Rangers team, which wasn't as easy thing to do.
"But as well as being a fine footballer, most of all he was just a great, great lad with a lovely manner about him.
"My heart goes out to his family and close friend. Rest in peace, David."
