Kieran Tierney has revealed he often shares treble stories with ex-Rangers midfielder Mikel Arteta - and can boast that he won his in Celtic's Invincible season.
Both players have won Scottish football's hat-trick of trophies in the one season, with KT doing so in 2016/17 and 2017/18 and Arteta doing the same with Gers in 2002/03. The pair, according to Tierney, compare their silverware from their time in Scotland. And the Arsenal left-back believes he comes out on top having gone through the 2016/17 campaign without suffering a domestic defeat.
He told Sky Sports: "We exchange treble stories. I've just got that wee one that mine was invincible in there. He was a brilliant player, to be fair."
Tierney, 23, is a massive fan of his boss at the Gunners and heaped praise on the Spaniard for being able to 'pick him up' from the lowest spell in his career. Having endured injury after injury, Tierney struggled for game time as he recovered under Unai Emery. But he has made up for lost time under Arteta and he loves working with the manager.
"I'm loving every single second working with him, learning every single day and he's picked me up big time," he said. "I was in probably the lowest point of my career, the lowest place I've been so for him to come in and change that in a few months and end the season with silverware was a fairytale end to the season.
"It was brilliant and a major factor was the manager."
