AC Milan icon Paolo Maldini has addressed the speculation linking the Serie A side with Celtic defender Kris Ajer, after it emerged AC Milan will sign a different defender.
The Hoops star has been tipped to join the Rossoneri with sporting director Maldini keen on his style of play. Fiorentina centre-half Nikola Milenkovic was believed to be their number one target this window, with Ajer backup.
But Maldini has shut down talk of Milan signing either player, insisting that the club are considering other options.
It has now emerged the Majita Nastasic is on his way to Italy to sign for Milan on loan, according to Sky Italia.
Though he admitted they were on the shortlist. "There are others," Maldini said when questioned on the pair by Sky Italia. “Those two can be part of a shortlist.
“But right now they are not names we are working on.”
We told how Celtic do not want to lose the Norwegian but that Milan were still considering an approach.
