AC Milan's interest in Kris Ajer is dead in the water after Celtic rejected an offer from the Italian giants.
The Serie A outfit have been keeping a close eye on Ajer this summer and it is understood they did approach the Hoops with a bid for the Norwegian. However Herald and Times Sport understands the Glasgow club rejected the fee.
Now Milan are understood to have moved on and will look to try and bring in Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.
Ajer, 22, is believed to have been open to a move to Italy with Milan but will now focus on trying to help the Parkhead side complete their 10 in a row mission. Sources close to the player have also revealed there is no interest from down south despite recent reports linking him with the likes of West Brom and Leicester City.
Paolo Maldini, sporting director at San Siro, recently confirmed Ajer was on a shortlist of players Milan were looking at.
