Rangers are monitoring Everton's Mo Besic with a view to potentially making a late move for the midfielder, according to local reports.
Steven Gerrard recently refused to be drawn on the 28-year-old but Liverpool Echo are reporting that the manager is indeed keen on the player.
Bosnian international Besic has struggled to nail down a starting spot at Goodison Park and it was made all the more difficult when James Rodriguez signed in the summer.
That has left the door open for Besic to perhaps head out on loan to gain some valuable minutes on the pitch and Rangers could be a viable option for him.
Gers are desperate for midfield reinforcements and could be in line to sign Bongani Zungu on loan from Amiens. But, should the South African not get the deal over the line, Besic could be considered for a late bid on deadline day.
Besic is into the final year of his contract at the Toffees and has spent the last two seasons on loan with Middlesbrough and Sheffield United, respectively.
