GARY MCALLISTER is pleased to see Ianis Hagi playing his part in the final third for Rangers after adding another assist to his tally on Sunday.
The playmaker produced a terrific performance to help Steven Gerrard’s side see off Livingston and extend their lead over Celtic at the top of the Premiership.
Hagi was involved in the opening goal as he set up Jermain Defoe for a shot that was blocked before he then regained possession to find Joe Aribo as he opened the scoring.
The Romanian has been an integral part of the Gers attack this term and McAllister was delighted with a fine showing from him at Ibrox.
He said: “There is so much focus on the numbers these days for players in his position - you have to score a goal and you have to make a goal.
“He’s got a lovely eye for a pass. He’s been involved in quite a few now. He’s very progressive in what he does.
“Sometimes the easy option is to the side or back. But he looks to probe, look forward and create.
“A player like that plays in inches and sometimes there are times in games when they turn the ball over and we lose possession.
"But you have to encourage players to take a chance to try and score a goal.”
