Leeds United have turned their attentions to Rangers' Glen Kamara, according to reports.
The Whites are admirers of the midfielder who has been in terrific form for the Light Blues this season. Kamara was particularly excellent in the first Old Firm derby of the season and has been touted with a big money move away to the English Premier League this term already.
Marcelo Bielsa has already attempted to prise Ryan Kent away from Ibrox this summer but Gers stood firm. Now, according to various outlets, they could have to do the same again with United considering a swoop for Kamara.
Leeds already have strength in depth in the midfield with Kalvin Phillips, Mateusz Klich, Adam Forshaw and the versatile Pablo Hernandez and Helder Costa in their ranks already. But it was reported that a central midfield man was a priority for Leeds this summer after a deal for Michael Cuisance from Bayern Munich fell through when he failed a medical.
Kamara has been linked with the likes of Newcastle this year but recently played down talk of any Premier League move. Former Celtic striker Teemu Pukki tipped his Finland teammate for a move before their game against Republic of Ireland earlier this month. But, at the time, Kamara said: "I’m not focused on that kind of thing. I’m focusing on this game.
"I enjoy playing with the national team and enjoy the manager, enjoy the group of boys that I’m with, and it’s always an honour to play for the national team.
“Since I’ve started playing, I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve got to know the players, I’ve got to know how the team plays and I feel like I’ve fitted in quite well, so hopefully long may it continue.”
