Scott Brown's coming together with Kilmarnock's Aaron Tshibola will be reviewed by an SFA panel.
The Celtic captain flailed an arm at the midfield opponent during his side's 4-0 win at Rugby Park and appeared to catch him on the face. But no action was taken against the Hoops ace.
Now, according to the Daily Record, the incident will be looked at by three members who will then decide whether Brown will have retrospective action taken against him.
It comes just a few short weeks after Brown was sent-off against Livingston for a similar elbow situation just moments after coming off the bench in a 2-2 draw.
The panel are the same board who banned Rangers' Alfredo Morelos for three matches after adjudging him to have stamped on Hibs defender Ryan Porteous.
Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard called for 'consistency' and the club made a sly dig following Brown's flashpoint last night.
