RANGERS PLAYER RATINGS
ALLAN MCGREGOR 8
The goalkeeper was left rooted to the spot by Nicolae Stanciu’s superb opener. Palmed a Lukas Provod free-kick wide on the half hour mark. Pulled off an incredible save from Lukas Masopust at the end.
NATHAN PATTERSON 6
Allowed Peter Olayinko to provide the assist for the opening Slavia goal and struggled to contain the rangy Nigerian at times thereafter. Gifted Stanciu the ball and was lucky the scorer didn’t add to his tally. But he recovered from his shaky start. Will learn from a tough evening.
CONNOR GOLDSON 7
The centre half did superbly to block a Stanciu shot at 1-0 and then got on the end of Borna Barisic’s free-kick to help set up the equaliser. Squandered a gilt-edged chance to put Rangers ahead at a Barisic cross. Failed to make a full connection.
FILIP HELANDER 8
Excellent. Did well to prevent Jan Kuchta from winning through balls into the Rangers penalty box twice in the first-half and then forced the forward to shoot wide. Was perfectly placed to level the match from close range.
BORNA BARISIC 8
The Croatian got forward throughout and played some nice passes as well as precise crosses to his team mates. Booked for a foul on Kuchta in the first-half. His dipping dead ball delivery led to the leveller.
GLEN KAMARA 6
The Finn was careless in possession at time and gave the Slavia midfielders far too much time and space on the ball in the middle of the park. But he improved as the game wore on.
STEVEN DAVIS 6
The Northern Ireland midfielder was uncharacteristically sloppy at times as well. But his free-kick into the Slavia area in the opening 45 minutes was superb. Received a yellow card for a foul on Lukas Provod in.
JOE ARIBO 6
Struggled to exert much of an influence on proceedings playing next to Davis and Kamara. Was moved into a more advanced position when Scott Arfield replaced Ianis Hagi and immediately set up Ryan Kent for a shot at goal.
IANS HAGI 6
The Romanian playmaker failed to close down his compatriot Nicolae Stanciu before the opening goal. Atoned for his lapse when he supplied Helander for his tap-in with a brilliant cut back.
RYAN KENT 6
Miscued a pass early on and struggled to make an impact thereafter. The English winger, however, worked tirelessly. Forced a one-handed save from Slavia keeper Ondrej Kolar after half-time.
ALFREDO MORELOS 8
Made his 50th European appearance in the Eden Arena. Came short to win the ball repeatedly and kept his cool despite being the victim of some physical challenges. Won the free-kick that Steven Gerrard’s side levelled from.
Replacements
SCOTT ARFIELD (for Hagi, 63) 5
The midfielder’s arrival on the park coincided with a far better spell from Rangers.
KEMAR ROOFE (for Aribo, 82) 3
Made his first appearance since suffering an injury in the Royal Antwerp game in Belgium last month.
BONGANI ZUNGU (for Kamara, 88) 2
A late replacement.
