CELTIC fans were rocked by the news on Thursday afternoon that club captain Scott Brown had agreed a pre-contract switch to Aberdeen at the end of the season.
The 35-year-old has been a key figure at the Hoops since joining from Hibs in 2007, and has won an incredible 22 trophies at the club.
Brown has 10 league titles, six League Cups and six Scottish Cups to his name - and could still add one more, with this season's Cup still to be played.
The skipper will go down as one of the most decorated players to have ever pulled on Celtic's famous green-and-white hoops.
And supporters have been paying tribute to the fan favourite on social media after he agreed to a player/coach role at Pittodrie.

Knew it was coming, but I’m more gutted he can’t have a proper send off like he should have. All the best BROONY \o/🍀

Celtic Legend . Will be a challenge just to replace him ... ☘

Surely there was an opportunity to offer Scott Brown some form of senior coaching role that allowed him to play on for another season in a reduced capacity, till he developed as a coach and it would have offered some form of cohesion with new management and existing players 🤔🤬

Where do you want the statue..??..
Captain. Leader. Legend. And in that order, for me. No tribute is high enough for Scott Brown's contribution to our beloved club. The place will never be the same again. Thanks for the memories and best of luck for the future.
