TIME will tell if Zander Clark gets an assist bonus in his St Johnstone paycheck at the end of the month after his Ibrox heroics on Sunday evening.
The real target for the keeper is another piece of silverware at Hampden, though, as Callum Davidson's side set their sights on a remarkable double this term.
Victory over Rangers has kept alive the Saints' ambitions of adding the Scottish Cup to the Betfred Cup success that was secured earlier in the season.
Clark was the man of the moment as he produced a string of superb saves to keep Rangers at bay and then had a hand in the last-gasp equaliser as his header was turned in by Chris Kane.
A stunning night was topped off as the shot-stopper saved from James Tavernier and Kemar Roofe in the shoot-out to send the Saints back to the National Stadium and within two games of another winner's medal.
It was one of those occasions that Clark simply had to savour at Ibrox and he would have a match-defining impact at both ends of the park as Rangers were left shocked and stunned.
Clark said: “When I was on loan at Queen of the South I went up for a game against Hearts in the last minute and hit the wrong side of the post.
“If a goalie goes up he’s just trying to cause a bit of havoc. Everybody’s got a player they’re supposed to be marking.
“If somebody just pick you up it’s usually one of the bigger ones. It’s about creating a bit of uncertainty.
“It is a risk for the defending team if you take a man off a centre-half or a striker.
“I saw it all the way, got a glance on it, it’s hit Kano and we’ve scored. That was that.
“It’s a great feeling. I’ll now need to see if the chairman will give me an assist bonus!
“I was able to switch my focus quickly for the penalties. A shoot-out can be a bit of a lottery but if you do your homework you give yourself a better chance – which we had.
“Thankfully I saved the first one and the standard of the penalties from our boys was incredible. I’ve saved another one and Ali has finished the job off.
“No [I didn’t think it was my goal]. I could see Kano put it in. But everybody was running to me so I was milking it!
“Then I just wanted to make sure we were all in place for the restart. I didn’t want them scoring from the half-way line after that!”
Clark may have grabbed the headlines on Sunday night but he wasn't the only hero in Davidson's ranks as St Johnstone caused the upset of the season at Ibrox.
Liam Craig, Callum Booth, Jason Kerr and Ali McCann all converted from 12 yards to complete an incredible comeback and secure a last four berth.
Davidson's side now turn their attentions to the Premiership clash with Hibernian this weekend but can dare to dream of another cup triumph this term.
Clark said: “Listen, we’ve given ourselves the chance. We’re going back to Hampden which is great in itself. We’ll continue to take it game by game.
“It’s always our aim at the start of the season to have a cup run. We’ve gone all the way in one of them and now we’ve got the chance of doing the same in the other one.
“We’ll need to get our feet back on the ground. It’s a big game in the league on Saturday and we’ll be focused on that now.”
