RANGERS are closing in on the signing of KV Oostende forward Fashion Sakala with the Ibrox club set to offer the 24-year-old a contract, according to reports.

Sakala's current deal in Belgium expires at the end of the current campaign, meaning the striker is free to discuss potential moves with interested clubs.

The Gers have been linked with Sakala regularly over the last six months and it now appears as though the Premiership champions will make their move for his signature.

The Daily Record are reporting that Rangers will offer the Zambia internationalist a pre-contract agreement later this week, with Sakala apparently keen on a switch to Glasgow - despite rumoured big-money offers on the table from Europe and the Middle East.

The Record add that "Sakala has already held positive talks with Rangers and is close to agreeing personal terms".

Oostende had been hopeful of securing a new contract for Sakala but have now resigned themselves to losing their star striker for nothing this summer when his deal expires.

Sakala has 13 goals in 28 appearances in the Belgian top flight this season, in addition to three assists.
