KEMAR ROOFE believes Rangers issued a reminder of their status as champions as they clinched a thrilling 4-1 win over Celtic at Ibrox.
The striker netted twice, with Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe also on the scoresheet, as Steven Gerrard's side secured their fourth Old Firm win of the campaign.
Rangers have been eliminated from the Europa League and the Scottish Cup in the weeks since they wrapped up a historic 55th league flag in early March.
And Roofe was delighted with the result and the performance from the champions as they hammered home their dominance this term.
Roofe said: “The result says it all, 4-1. It was a big game for us because of the way this month has been, the last few games.
“Myself, personally and the team. I have been down, I have been disappointed.
“It’s our own fault. This last month has been our own fault with the way it’s been. But this game was massive and we knew it.
“It was a chance to wrap up this season, remind ourselves we are champions.
“It was such a long time ago that we kind of forgot about that. This game has brought that back to us.
“The first goal was all about reaction, anticipation. I try to get myself into the right areas at the right time and fortunately I was.
“We need to do that more and more. That’s what I mean about this month. The last five or six weeks have been really frustrating for me.
“On and off the pitch things haven’t been going the right way for me. But in my head I was preparing for this game for a long time. It was really important.
“We have great motivation to stay unbeaten in the final two games. I know I keep going on about what happened in the last month or so.
“We won the league a long time ago and now it’s about going unbeaten. Every game we try and play good football.”
