CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN has revealed that he couldn’t feel or move his leg after sustaining the horror knee injury that has ruled him out for nine months.
Jullien has been out of action since colliding with a post as he made a goalline clearance against Dundee United at Celtic Park back in February, but made a return to the stadium yesterday to help the club launch their new away kit.
And while he said being back at the ground has made him even more excited for his return to playing - hopefully in front of the Celtic supporters – he admits he had a huge scare when he sustained the worst injury of his career.
“I’ve never had big injuries, I’ve always had small injuries with a maximum [lay-off] of one month or something like that,” Jullien told Celtic TV. “But I never had the feeling of not being able to move part of my body.
“At the time when I took that [hit], I couldn’t feel my leg. I didn’t have the feeling to move my leg, I couldn’t move my leg.
“I remember at that moment Odsonne (Edouard) and everybody came to me and were like ‘hey it’s nothing, it’s nothing’, but no, it was something, I could feel it. It definitely was something.
“I’m probably on a marathon. The injury I think is probably nine months, something like that, so I’m kind of at the half.
“I just can’t wait to be back and to be with my teammates and everyone and be on the pitch.
“I just can’t describe it, because you just don’t have that testosterone or that atmosphere of every day waking up and having the goal of going on the pitch for training and just win a little game against your teammates or something like that.
“Something is missing. When you watch your teammates on the television playing and you can’t do anything, it hurts. It’s been a really long, long time and it really hurts.”
