Damien Duff has revealed he'd be delighted to see Scotland knock England out of Euro 2020.
The former Celtic coach admitted the Scots are 'close to his heart' after his time working alongside Brendan Rodgers and then Neil Lennon in Glasgow.
The Irishman also believes Steve Clarke's Hoops contingent within the camp could be a big help towards doing the business in their group and beating the English.
Duff, 42, reckons Scotland will soak up the pressure in their matches at Hampden and Wembley but says if they can do that they stand a chance against their opponents including Croatia and Czech Republic.
"They play Croatia first and Croatia could do them," he told RTE while discussing England's chances.
“Then they play Scotland, who are close to my heart. Scotland could put England out in the second game. That would be great. They have a good, solid squad and an awful lot of Celtic players that are really well coached and top players.
“Scotland are not going to take the game to teams. They’re going to sit back and frustrate and they will do that to England.
“I’m probably a dreamer but, second game, they could be out and the flip side of it is Scotland could go through."
