Boli Bolingoli will return to Celtic after Istanbul Besaksehir snubbed the chance to sign him permanently.
The defender had been on loan in Turkey for the best part of last season following his controversial Covid-19 protocol sins where he travelled to Spain without quarantining or telling Celts he had went on a jaunt.
He then played against Kilmarnock the following weekend.
Istanbul confirmed on their website that they would not be exercising their option clause to bring the left-back to the club again on a permanent basis.
A statement said: "The contract of Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo, who played successfully for one season under our orange-dark blue jersey, has expired.
"Our club has decided not to exercise the purchase option in the rental agreement with Celtic FC.
"We thank Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo for his efforts for our club and wish him success for the rest of his career."
Boli, 25, played 18 times during his loan spell.
