CHRIS SUTTON has claimed Odsonne Edouard shouldn't be within 100 miles of Celtic's pre-season training if he isn't fully committed.

The Hoops hero insists Ange Postecoglou must ensure the French striker is entirely focussed on Celtic or remove him from the pre-season camp.

Celtic head to Wales next week as they ramp up their pre-season training, and Sutton claims Edouard shouldn't make the trip if Postecoglou has any doubts over his dedication to the club and the upcoming Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland.

Supporters were yesterday given a unique insight into Postecoglou's philosophy of high-tempo, relentless pressure football. And Edouard was seen involved in the drill, receiving praise from Postecoglou.

But with the possibility of a move, and links with a switch to reunite with Brendan Rodegsr at Leicester, Sutton insists a decision on how to manage Edouard must be made by Postecoglou and receive the full backing of the boardroom.

Writing in his Daily Record column, Sutton said: "Ange Postecoglou has only two ways to deal with Odsonne Edouard.

"The first is to sit him down, tell him to get his mind fixed on the crucial opening weeks of the season and to show that he’s worth the move he might be expecting to get.

"The second is to keep him far away from the pre-season training camp in Wales and out of sight of his Hoops colleagues.

"If Postecoglou doesn’t feel Edouard’s mind is on the job or he’s thinking about his move away, he shouldn’t have him within 100 miles of the training camp in Wales."

Sutton also outlined the decisions to be made over Kris Ajer and Ryan Christie in pre-season, which could leave Postecoglou needing a number of signings to replace top talents.

And the former striker said if players want to leave or aren't 100 per cent behind Postecoglou then they must be sold immediately, without room for negoatiation on fees.

He continued: "Kristoffer Ajer is different. He has made his case publicly that he doesn’t want to be there and Celtic should get rid. Now.

"Never mind trying to squeeze a couple of million extra here or here for him. Just get him sold.

"If Ryan Christie has the same mindset, same outcome."
