DUNDEE have launched an ambitious bid to bring Leigh Griffiths back to Dens Park, according to reports.
The 31-year-old centre-forward, who signed for Dundee in a £125,000 move from Livingston back in 2009, enjoyed a prolific spell for two years on Tayside before moving to Wolves.
Griffiths has since fallen down the pecking order at Parkhead and his seven-year spell at Celtic looks to be drawing to a close.
A potential player-plus-cash deal for Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet has been mooted in recent weeks as the Premiership runners-up look to offload the centre-forward - and now Dundee have entered the race for Griffiths' signature.
According to the Scottish Sun, the newly-promoted side have offered to loan Griffiths for the season - with the player reportedly keen on the move.
Griffiths knows manager James McPake and his assistant Dave Mackay from the trio's time at Livingston, while McPake also played alongside the striker at Hibs between 2011 and 2013.
