CELTIC have entered the race for Watford striker Troy Deeney - but face stiff competition for the centre-forward's signature from Birmingham City.
The 33-year-old is in the final year of his contract at Vicerage Road and is not expected to be offered an extension, and a cut-price deal could be on the cards.
Deeney is a fan favourite at Watford, having scored 140 goals in 419 appearances in his 11 years at the club, and the Mirror claim Ange Postecoglou is keen on a move for the forward.
However, Celtic could miss out as Deeney is a boyhood Birmingham fan, and could find a switch to his favourite club hard to turn down.
The report claims that both Watford and Deeney are "keen to explore all options ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline", while Birmingham are prepared to offer the veteran striker a long-term deal at St Andrew's.
