KRIS DOOLAN admits it is “flattering” to be linked with a return to Firhill after Scott Allison departed his role as head of the Thistle Weir Youth Academy.
The 34-year-old is a legendary figure at Thistle and is fourth in the list of the Jags’ all-time top scorers after spending a hugely successful decade in Maryhill.

Doolan was controversially released by then manager Gary Caldwell in the summer of 2019 and has since turned out for Greenock Morton, Ayr United and Arbroath.
The centre-forward is currently out of contract and spends much of his time working with the training academy set up in his name, leading some supporters to call for Doolan to be considered for the now vacant position as an academy director.

The man himself paid tribute to Allison but remained coy on what the future holds.
“Scott will be a big miss at the club,” Doolan said of Allison’s departure from Thistle. “His passion and desire to help the young players was always clear to see.
“[It’s] flattering to have my name come up from some fans though.”
