SIR Rod Stewart has paid tribute to Bertie Auld on the day of his funeral by sending a wreath to a 'lion of lions'.
The Celtic-daft rocker, 76, floral arrangement was spotted outside St Mary's Church in the Calton in Glasgow where the Lisbon Lion's funeral was taking place today.

In tribute to the late footballer, Rod wrote the message: "Rest in Peace my friend Bertie. A lion of lions. Sir Roderick Stewart CBE."
It is not known if Rod attended the funeral.

Described as one of Scottish football's great characters, he died aged 83 on November 14. It was revealed earlier this year that he had been battling dementia.
The midfielder scored 85 goals in 283 appearances over two spells for Celtic, the most famous game of which was the 1967 European Cup final win against Inter Milan in the Portuguese capital.
