FORMER Celtic favourite Kieran Tierney can't become the captain of Arsenal because he is Scottish, Simon Jordan has cheekily claimed.
The former Crystal Palace owner told talkSPORT this morning that the left-back would not be a suitable replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Arsenal attacker was stripped of his captaincy at the club earlier today.
He was granted permission to travel to France last week, however, returned a day later than agreed - which was not his first offence when it comes to breaching club rules.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta spoke this afternoon to say it wasn't something he wanted to have to do, but he was left with no choice.
Discussing the situation on the Breakfast Show on talkSPORT this morning, Jordan alongside host Jim White moved on to who could potentially get the armband going forward.
Plenty of Arsenal fans have suggested Scottish international Kieran Tierney is the ideal fit for the role.
But Jordan claimed that despite his credentials, Tierney was not the man - because of his nationality and Scotland's previous links to football failure.
When asked about KT, Jordan couldn't resist the dig. He said: "Tierney? He's a Scot, so he's used to failure, I'm not sure if that's the leadership qualities we want."
Broadcaster White quickly responded: "Kieran Tierney, I hope you are listening to that, come in here, anytime you like, and brain him."
