RYAN JACK has hit back at 'disrespectful' Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis after he claimed the Parkhead squad was better in every department than their Ibrox counterparts.

The Greek sparked controversy in the aftermath of the recent victory over Dundee, which came after Rangers had been held by Dundee United, when he talked up Ange Postecoglou's side.

Giakoumakis hit a hat-trick in the Premiership win and said: “The squad is very good – I think it’s the best in the league. I think we are better in every single department.

"We showed we are a better team, that's obvious, we showed we work harder in the field and I think we will win the championship."

Rangers have the chance to move level on points with their Old Firm rivals this weekend as Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side attempt to salvage their title defence.

And Jack insists the champions will do their talking on the park after dismissing the comments from Giakoumakis on the eve of the third derby clash of the campaign.

Jack said: “I don’t agree with it. I don’t get that at all, those comments. I think it’s disrespectful to come out with that. But, look, it is what it is.

“We will go quietly about our business. We’ll do our talking in here, work hard here in-house and come Sunday we will be right up for the challenge."
