FRANK LAMPARD has revealed a late injury ruled Nathan Patterson out of a Premier League debut today.
Everton fell to a 2-1 defeat to West Ham in London this afternoon. Patterson was not involved in the matchday squad despite being set for his first-start in the league.
Lampard revealed he was planning to throw Patterson into his side for the trip to West Ham but plans changed after an injury yesterday.
The Toffees boss revealed Patterson "turned his ankle" in training ahead of the match.
And he confirmed Patterson will have to have a scan to discover how significant the injury is.
Lampard explained: "Patterson turned his ankle in training yesterday, which is disappointing as he's in a really good moment after the international break.
"He would have made his (Premier League) debut today.
"We need to get it scanned but it might not be a good one."
Patterson had played for Scotland on international duty against both Poland and Austria but is yet to play for Everton in the Premier League.
