LIVERPOOL are targeting Aberdeen starlet Calvin Ramsey, according to a report.

It's been said that the Reds want the young Scottish star to act as cover for first-choice right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Scottish Sun report that scouts for Jurgen Klopp's side have bee raving about the teenager, who was enjoyed a superb debut season with the Dons.

Ramsay, 18, has attracted interest from various Premier League clubs, as well as those on the continent.

And it's said that the Anfield club view him as a player to sign and bring through the first team set-up.

Welsh defender Neco Williams has acted as back-up to Alexander-Arnold over the past year or so.

So, the report states that Liverpool's interest in Ramsay points to a potential exit for Williams.

He is on loan at Fulham right now, and a permanent deal could be on the cards should Ramsay eventually join the Reds.
