GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST is confident Rangers will have 'positive news' soon as talks continue with Alex Lowry over a new long-term deal.
The 19-year-old is out of contract next season and discussions are ongoing as Rangers attempt to fend off interest from England in one of their prized assets.
Newcastle United are one of the sides to be credited with an interest in Lowry but Van Bronckhorst is determined to keep the playmaker at Ibrox for as long as possible.
Van Bronckhorst said: "Alex is one of the big talents that we have coming through from the Academy and we are in talks for him to sign a new contract.
"I think he will be an important player for the future of this club. Talks are still in process so hopefully we will have positive news in the coming weeks."
