Steven Gerrard has taken to social media platform Instagram to congratulate Rangers on reaching the Europa League.
The Aston Villa boss departed for Birmingham in November after three and a half successful years in Govan.
And his team have moved to the next level under his replacement Giovanni van Bronckhorst who has guided the squad past Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade, Braga and now RB Leipzig.
Gerrard posted a graphic from BT Sport saluting the Europa League finalists and said: "Congratulations Rangers. What a performance!"
Meanwhile, his assistant at Ibrox and Villa, Michael Beale took to Twitter to offer his congratulations.
He said: "Outstanding achievement for Rangers.
"That group of players and staff are a family. After a terrible few days, they have pulled together and put in a huge performance.
"(I'm) Absolutely delighted. Each one signed with a dream of playing in Europe. Now they will play in a European final"
