GIOVANNI van Bronckhorst has admitted the upcoming Europa League and Scottish Cup finals influenced his team selection against Dundee United.

The Rangers boss made a host of changes from the midweek triumph over RB Leipzig as United visit Ibrox this afternoon.

And ahead of the match Van Bronckhorst explained that the finals came into his thinking as he named his side for the Scottish Premiership clash.

He told Rangers TV: "Obviously we made some changes for today's game.

"I think we have to, as you said we wasn't everyone for the last two important games, everyone fit and also able to get the minutes before the game so that's why the changes (have been made) today.

"Our objective is the same, we want to play the same way we always do, with the same rhythm and same energy.

"We have to be 100 percent today because the last weeks of this campaign can be very decisive for us with of course the two finals in the end.

"We have to keep going and I know my players will.

Rangers could go on to claim an impressive cup double this season should they overcome Hearts and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively.

Asked if the players brought into the line-up could stake a claim for a starting spot in the finals, Van Bronckhorst responded: "Everyone, everyone, because we have the same hunger and desires, determination we've had for months and that's also what I want to see in this game.

"For us, the way of playing is the same we always want."
