CELTIC are closing in on securing Jota on a permanent transfer and expect the deal to be finalised by the end of the week, according to reports.
The Portuguese winger joined the Parkhead club on loan from Benfica last summer and played an important part as Ange Postecoglou's side sealed the Premiership title.
Celtic included an option in the loan deal where they could make the deal permanent for a fee of £6.5million and the Scottish Daily Express report that the clause has now been activated.
The report adds that the 23-year-old and Celtic 'have all but agreed personal terms'.
The Premiership champions have recently acted on a similar clause for Tottenham loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers, who impressed in defence during his loan stint in Glasgow.
