MICHAEL BEALE is confident the best is still to come from Lyndon Dykes as he aims to lead Queens Park Rangers into the Premier League this term.

The former Livingston striker scored 13 goals in 44 appearances for club and country last season and will now be part of Beale's Loftus Road squad in the coming months.

Dykes missed the Nations League double header with Armenia and defeat to the Republic of Ireland after withdrawing from international duty through injury.

But Beale has no doubt he will show his quality in the Championship and for Steve Clarke's side once again as he prepares to return to training in the coming weeks.

Beale said: “I am looking forward to working with him because you don’t really know a player until you are working with him.

"I have liked the bully he was up in Scotland, the player who bashed into players a little bit and got around. He has done well, coming down here.

"Last year was disrupted a little bit by injuries but I am really looking forward to working with him.

“I’ve had a couple of really good conversations with him. He was away with the Scotland team so I didn’t want to disturb him and then he got the knock and had to come out of the squad and that’s how we had our first conversation.

"I work with that area of the pitch. I work with unit coaches like we did at Rangers.

"I’m looking forward to working with Lyndon and helping him reach his full potential because I think he’s had a really fast rise and I think the best is still to come.

"If we can get the best out of him that can only be good for QPR first and then for the Scottish national team.

“I share the same disappointment as everybody else in the last couple of weeks with the national team but I do think Clarkey is doing a great job and it’s about everyone taking a deep breath here and continuing to move forward in the future.

"Lyndon is a big part of that. If I can get him firing here it will keep people in Scotland happy."
