NIGEL FARAGE has hailed Rangers for their tribute to the Queen during ahead of last night's Champions League match against Napoli.
In defiance of instructions from UEFA, the national anthem was played before Wednesday night’s 3-0 Champions League defeat by Napoli to commemorate the death of the Queen.
A passionate rendition of the anthem followed a minute’s silence at Ibrox that had been permitted by UEFA, who at the same time rejected requests from some clubs to play ‘God Save the King’.
A vast silhouette of the Queen amid the colours of the Union Jack was also unfurled ahead of kick-off.
Farage shared a video from Ibrox on his Twitter timeline and simply said "We Love Rangers!"
Earlier in the day he suggested that British clubs should make a stand against UEFA after their rejection of anthem requests.
He added: "Time we threatened to leave European football. Without us they would be nothing."
