UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has revealed more people watched the Europa Conference League Final last season than Rangers' Europa League Final with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Rangers reached the final last term of what is regarded as the most important competition in European football outside the Champions League.
They were to eventually fall to an agonising penalty shootout defeat to the German side in the final in Seville, with tens of thousands of Rangers and Eintracht fans invading the Spanish city.
In contrast, the Europa Conference League has been undermined by managers complaining about the competition and some even playing weakened teams.
However, UEFA chief Ceferin has just revealed the viewing figures for the final in Tirana, Albania where Roma defeated Feyenoord, were higher than those that watched Rangers lose to the Bundesliga side.
And he maintains that's proof that their third competition is hugely popular.
Ceferin said: "I am satisfied with the way the Conference League and Nations League have gone.
"Some people have criticised the Europa Conference League, but now they are telling us that we have to hold it in bigger stadiums.
"For example, last season's final had a higher viewership than the Europa League Final."
