CELTIC could be in line for a windfall after Manchester United were linked with a move for Jeremie Frimpong.
The Bayer Leverkusen right-back spent a year-and-a-half at Parkhead before departing for the Bundesliga giants in January 2021 for a fee of around £11.5million.
The Hoops are believed to have included a sell-on clause in the deal, meaning they will be due a cut of any future transfer fee, and that prospect has now edged closer after the Red Devils were linked with a move for the Dutch defender.
Sky Sports Germany report that the 21-year-old, who as excelled for Leverkusen this term, is being looked at by United with a view to bringing Frimpong to Old Trafford in the January transfer window.
United manager Erik ten Hag is said to be on the look-out for a 'high-quality right-back this winter'. The position is currently occupied by Uruguay internationalist Diego Dalot.
Frimpong won a domestic treble in his one full season in Scoland after arriving from Manchester City's academy and faced Celtic in the Europa league last season.
