HEARTS' appeal against Jorge Grant's red card has been dismissed.
The midfielder was sent off during his side's weekend win over Motherwell.
He was shown a straight red for his tackle on Callum Slattery just five-minutes before half-time.
The Tynecastle outfit appealed that decision on Monday.
However, the Scottish FA's disciplinary panel has upheld the call made by Kevin Clancy.
A Hearts statement read: "Hearts can confirm that our appeal against Jorge Grant's red card, received in Sunday's win over Motherwell, as been dismissed.
"Therefore he will serve a two-game suspension effective immediately."
This means that Grant will be unable to play against Rangers and Livingston.
He will return for Robbie Neilson's side after the five-week break for the World Cup.
