He asked: "You used to go and watch court cases in the High Court in Glasgow. Is that true?"

O'Neill replied: "Once or twice. I must admit, I did do. I obviously enjoyed that part of it as well too. Probably not as many (cases) as people are making out to be but yes I did."

It was previously reported that the 70-year-old almost became a lawyer. His passion for crime and court saw him queue to watch the trials of both the Yorkshire Ripper and ‘Black Panther’ killer Donald Neilson.

He previously enrolled to study law at Queen’s University, Belfast.

He told Sunday Life: “It’s a world that interests me but I’m not sure I would have been fast enough on my feet to be a barrister.”

O'Neill also revealed during the podcast that he enjoyed watching American football games to wind down after Celtic matches.
