Michael Beale has named his first Rangers team ahead of this afternoon's friendly clash against Bayer Leverkusen.

The Ibrox side host the Bundesliga outfit in Glasgow this afternoon for a warm-up match ahead of domestic action returning after the World Cup break.

Beale has gone with Allan McGregor in goal with a back four of James Tavernier, Leon King, James Sands and Adam Devine.

Glen Kamara, Ryan Jack and Malik Tillman start in midfield. And it appears it could be a front three of Rabbi Matondo, Ryan Kent and Antonio Colak.

But Beale has already warned fans not to read too much into his team selection.

The new boss admitted he'll be giving every player a chance to prove their worth and the line-up won't necessarily represent a first-choice side.

He said: "Every player this weekend will be given an opportunity. If I am a fan, I would not look too closely at the team which starts and think that is what the management team will go with against Hibs.

"Every player will have a chance to show they want to be part of things. We do not play friendlies so I want it to be intense

"I want the players to show me they want to be here and that they can play. Certainly, in the attacking positions where we have a number of players I am going to give players opportunities.

"Then we are straight back in Sunday, we do not have time for days off and will be straight through till Thursday. This Saturday is about fine-tuning and giving everyone the opportunity to show the management team they want to be part of the future."

SUBS: McLaughlin, McCrorie, Lundstram, Davis, Morelos, Wright, McCann, Sakala, Arfield, Fraser, Lowry.
