Ferencvaros are reportedly open to selling star midielder Aissa Laidouni off the back of his World Cup performances with Tunisia.

Celtic were linked with the 25-year-old earlier this month, with the January transfer window lurking around the corner.

He may already be a familiar name to Hoops fans, having been part of the Ferencvaros squad that knocked the Hoops out of the Champions League in 2020 during Neil Lennon's tenure.

Laidouni was a standout for Tunisia during their three World Cup group games in Qatar.

While the African outfit didn't make it to the group stages, they famously defeated eventual runners-up France with a fantastic 1-0 victory.

Reports in France recently suggested that Ange Postecoglou's side were one of many clubs across Europe who are interested in the midfielder's services.

Foot Mercato reported that both Celtic and Wolfsburg have their eyes on Laidouni.

Now, it has emerged that his current club are willing to cash in on the player.

Ferencvaros chief Gabor Kubatov has admitted that he is "open to negotiations" regarding the Tunisian.

According to previous reports, a fee of around £3.5million is the Hugarian side's asking price.

This could potentially open the door for Celtic to make a move, if they are indeed interested.

Speaking to Nemzeti Sport, Kubatov said: "Many people are interested. We haven’t received a specific offer yet. But I’m sure it will come.

"He played at a very high level at the World Cup. And, if we receive an offer that is worth considering, we are open to negotiations.

"We have to find the right balance too. If we can sell someone for good money, we can get more benefits from that.

"On the one hand, we can use the income to bring in new football players."

Laidouni, capped 27 times for his country, made his international debut in 2021 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier versus Libya.
